Shadows and Sundials
How can we tell the time from shadows? Investigate how the rotation of the Earth affects the way we see the Sun, and how the positions of shadows can be used by time-tellers. This session offers the opportunity to explore the Museum’s amazing collection of sundials, handle a variety of them, gain a deeper understanding of how they work, and a chance for children to make their own working dial.
Length: About 90 minutes
